"The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There is a Surah in the Quran consisting of thirty verses which will intercede for a man until he is forgiven. It is: Tabarakalladhi bi-yadihi al-Mulk (Surah Al-Mulk)."" — Sunan Abi Dawud (1400) & Jami` at-Tirmidhi (2891)
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) would not sleep until he recited Surah As-Sajdah and Surah Al-Mulk. It protects the soul during sleep and intercedes for the believer in the grave.
Surah Al-Mulk is historically designated as Al-Mani'ah (The Defender) and Al-Munjiyah (The Savior) because it rescues its reciter from the punishment of the grave.
