Surah Ar-Ra'd (13:28) — Heart Tranquility
الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ
English: Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.
Urdu: وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے اور جن کے دل اللہ کے ذکر سے اطمینان پاتے ہیں، سن لو! اللہ ہی کے ذکر سے دلوں کو سکون ملتا ہے۔
Reflection: The human heart was created with a spiritual void that cannot be permanently satiated by material acquisitions; only constant connection to its Creator brings tranquility.
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:186) — Direct Connection
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ
English: And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.
Urdu: اور جب آپ سے میرے بندے میرے متعلق دریافت کریں تو (بتا دیجیے کہ) میں بالکل قریب ہوں۔ پکارنے والے کی دعا قبول کرتا ہوں جب وہ مجھے پکارتا ہے، پس چاہیے کہ وہ بھی میرا حکم مانیں اور مجھ پر ایمان رکھیں تاکہ وہ سیدھی راہ پائیں۔
Reflection: Unlike any other question in the Quran where Allah says 'Qul' (Say to them), here Allah eliminates any intermediary, replying directly: 'Fa-inni Qareeb' (Indeed, I am near).
