Surah Al-Hujurat (49:11) — Human Dignity
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِّن قَوْمٍ عَسَىٰ أَن يَكُونُوا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَاءٌ مِّن نِّسَاءٍ عَسَىٰ أَن يَكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا بِالْأَلْقَابِ
English: O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames.
Urdu: اے ایمان والو! کوئی قوم دوسری قوم کا تمسخر نہ اڑائے، ہو سکتا ہے کہ وہ ان سے بہتر ہوں، اور نہ عورتیں دوسری عورتوں کا مذاق اڑائیں، ممکن ہے کہ وہ ان سے بہتر ہوں، اور ایک دوسرے کو طعنہ نہ دو اور نہ برے القاب سے یاد کرو۔
Reflection: Preserves the psychological dignity of individuals and eliminates social toxicity, arrogance, and cyber-bullying.
Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13) — Universal Equality
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ
English: O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.
Urdu: اے لوگو! ہم نے تمہیں ایک مرد اور ایک عورت سے پیدا کیا اور تمہیں قوموں اور قبیلوں میں تقسیم کیا تاکہ تم ایک دوسرے کو پہچان سکو، بے شک تم میں اللہ کے نزدیک سب سے زیادہ معزز وہ ہے جو تم میں سب سے زیادہ پرہیزگار ہے، یقیناً اللہ خوب جاننے والا باخبر ہے۔
Reflection: Eliminates all racial, national, and caste hierarchies. True nobility is determined exclusively by character and piety (Taqwa).
